Our story

How it started

Craig MacDonald started Shine in the summer of 2019, while he was at business school at the local college in Prince George. He grew up there, saw that property services was something people would rally behind if it were done properly, and started knocking on doors.

The plan was never complicated: turn up when you say you will, do the work properly, and be the company people recommend without being asked. That is still the plan.

When Shine expanded to Greater Victoria in 2026, we did not pretend the two markets were interchangeable. Each location has its own crew, phone number, service mix, and local details. That keeps it simple: homeowners reach the team that actually serves their area.

Our technicians are paid above industry standard. That is a deliberate choice and it is not charity — the person on your roof is the whole product, and people who are paid properly stay, get good at it, and care about the result.
