Foothills sits on the west side of Prince George along Foothills Boulevard, rising away from the river valley, with a mix of established and newer residential streets.

The rising ground is the local factor. Elevation brings more snow and more wind than the valley floor, and it means meltwater runs rather than sits — which is generally good for a property, except where a driveway or a downspout outlet is on the receiving end of it.
