Heritage is a central Prince George neighbourhood, close in and long established, with housing that mostly predates the newer bench subdivisions.

Older housing means older roofs, older gutters and older fascia, and it is the third of those that usually decides how urgent a job is. Fascia that has taken a few winters of overflow and standing ice is considerably less forgiving than newer material, and it is worth looking at properly rather than just clearing the trough and leaving.

The roofs here tend to be shallower in pitch than the newer parts of the city. In a place with this much snow that matters: a shallow roof holds its load rather than shedding it, and packed snow sitting on packed debris through a long winter is the condition that does the damage.

Trees are established and close to houses, so needle and leaf load in the gutters is steady through the autumn.

Being central, access is straightforward — standard lots, standard driveways, short distances. Those driveways still take a full winter of road sand, and being close in means more traffic putting it there.
