5 Easy Exterior Home Maintenance Tips

You do not need to diagnose every mark on your house before asking for help. A few observations can make the scope clearer and avoid booking the wrong work.

1. Start with the gutter, not just the roof

Look for visible debris and where rainwater overflows. Record the location from ground level so the quote can address the section you are concerned about.

2. Describe roof growth before choosing a service

A dark mark and a thick clump of moss are not the same problem. Share what you can see rather than assuming treatment alone is enough.

3. Match the cleaning method to the material

A driveway and painted siding do not call for the same approach. Identify the surfaces in your request and mention any peeling or fragile finish.

4. Plan window cleaning around other exterior work

If siding is being washed, ask whether you also want the windows cleaned afterwards. Rinsing glass during a house wash is not a full window clean.

5. Make access part of the conversation

Tell us about locked gates, pets, obstacles and access to an outdoor tap. Good information before the visit helps us plan the work you requested.

You do not need to climb onto a roof to provide photos. Ground-level views and a description are a useful starting point. The crew will assess access and stop if work cannot be done safely.
